Roscoff was fantastic, it really was. I have never been on
a course and learnt so much in such a short space of time. We were
there what? 5 days? And I could reel off (well, with a bit of help)
nearly 60 organisms. I took so many photos, yet failed to realise
that someone had (accidentally? Purposly?) changed the ISO of the
macro option to high, and so all of my macro photos are fairly
grainy and full of noise.

Not happy.

It was extremely interesting however, to learn about the
introduction of the invasive species Sargassum muticum
which arrived in the French waters during the depletion of the
oyster farms when a virus hit. The French imported their oysters
from Japan, where there was a high prevelance of this S.muticum
(or Japweed as it is commonly known). A small strand of this
seaweed was attached to one oyster, and due to this there was
an introduction of a new species!

Thankfully it is controlled at the moment, but who's to say
this'll last?!
